TALENT Lab
Talent Assessment, Learning, & ENgagemenT

The TALENT Lab is an Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology lab at Portland State University led by Dr. Jason Randall. We conduct research in the areas of learning and development, work motivation, and personnel selection. The TALENT Lab works closely with organizational partners to share and implement evidence-based practices to improve individual and organizational work effectiveness. Our goal is to help organizations make work meaningful, effective, and inclusive for all.

Research from our lab provides insights for today’s workforce challenges including how to:

  • encourage and evaluate individual and team learning in formal or informal settings

  • help people stay focused in the face of distractions at work or school

  • improve effectiveness and reduce bias in personnel assessment and evaluation

We are located in the Department of Psychology at Portland State University in downtown Portland. Please explore this website to learn more about my research interests, teaching experience, student collaborators, and publications. If you are interested in joining the lab, please email Dr. Jason Randall (jasonran@pdx.edu) for more details.
